Fall and winter is the best time to clip magnolia for your table, vases, mantels, etc. It makes a statement on its own. Here's how I decorated my table for dinner for just the two of us.
I started with a beautiful planter as the centerpiece. My favorite terracotta planters are from Perryander Studio in Athens. One of my life hacks is that a stick a high quality faux orchid stem into my live orchid plant when the blooms inevitably fall. I used stems from Peddler's Wagon in Watkinsville. No one can tell. In fact, I've had guests compliment how stunning my orchids are and are shocked when I tell the they're fake. There's just no reason to replace an orchid every month unless you find joy in that.
I line the magnolia down the table and used the smaller pieces around the planter. I nestled some antique glass candlestick holders into the magnolia. Brass or silver ones would have also been a lovely choice! I chose to use my black candlesticks for a moodier look but also considered cream and moss green. My black cotton napkins are from Park Designs. They are one of my go to brands for napkins! My place setting is from Appointments at Five in Athens, but here are the details:
